When I called to file a police report, I was explaining to the dispatcher where we were in the subdivision when she asked; "Now is your house number on your mailbox?" (so the officer could find it)

I said; "Well it is or was, but the mailbox is scattered all over the yard." I told her not to worry, he wouldn't be able to miss it.

I was a little disappointed that the police wrote the report up as an incident report of vandalism and didn't take any pictures or collect any of the vehicle evidence in hopes to find out who did this. We were on our own.
